I cannot view media or other content in Canvas pages.

Target Audience: All Users.

Some users have recently experienced video or other media content not appearing on Canvas pages as expected. This phenomena occurs whether the media source is YouTube, Films on Demand, or another source. The instances of blocked media content has become more problematic as browsers have implemented features to be more secure. Our Canvas server is a secure server. Any content from an outside source appears to the browser to be unsecure even if legitimate. To allow the blocked content (and allow the video or other media to appear), follow the steps below:

In Google Chrome:

When viewing a web page that has mixed content, a small icon of a shield will appear on the right side of the address bar. Clicking that shield, and then selecting Load unsafe script will render the content

In Mozilla Firefox:

When viewing a web page that was mixed content, a small icon of a shield will appear on the left side of the address bar. Clicking that shield, clicking the more actions arrow, and then selecting Disable Protection on this page will render the mixed content.

In Internet Explorer:

When viewing a web page that was mixed content, a popup will appear at the bottom of the page that says Only secure content is displayed clicking Show all content will fix the issue

In Safari:

Mixed content is allowed by default in Safari for Mac

If you would like more information about the security change that was made, you can look at this blog from mozilla regarding the problem:
